On the delivery of prefabricated modules to complete school facilities in the municipality of San Pedro Carcha, in the Alta Verapaz Department, the president recalled the adverse climate conditions that prevailed in June and July.
Weather changes severely affected many of our infrastructures and put at risk two fundamental pillars of society, education and health, the head of State highlighted.
Arevalo added that “notwithstanding, as a government we are responding with timely action, since the project of the modules are clear demonstration that we can overcome the challenges even in the most critical moments.”
The leader argued that those prefabricated buildings ensure that the educational facilities can be adapted to the immediate needs of the communities impacted by rainfalls.
The head of State commented that such blocks guarantee safety for students, protection for the entire school sector and bring confidence and peace of mind to parents, who know that their children will be attending classes despite bad weather conditions.
The president informed that modules hand been delivered in other communities and that three health posts hand been inaugurated in Alta Verapaz, “we are really giving immediate response to the aftermath of the rains we had a couple of months ago,” he noted.
