Maliweb informed that Malian President, Colonel Assimi Goita, who is currently the president of the AES, said in a speech on Sunday that the launch of a new passport, an investment bank, and a common television channel for the three countries, to promote economic integration and raise the cultural level of the member countries.
Goita reiterated the three countries’ determination to continue the fight against terrorism and their commitment to carry out concrete projects that promote the decision to move towards regional integration.
The AES was established on September 16, 2023, to confront the Islamist groups operating in the region, following these three countries’ decision to leave the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) given its sanctions and threats against the military governments of Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger, and face together the fight against French neo-colonialism.
