To this end, several marching bands have been deployed on the capital’s historic Zócalo Square.
The event was headed by AMLO, escorted by president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum, in what constitutes the last mass meeting in which they both will participate together with the Armed Forces.
The military parade began at around ten in the morning, when López Obrador and Sheinbaum reviewed troops stationed at Plaza de la Constitución.
Then the a 15,590-strong contingent of armed personnel (22 percent of them women) started their parade, while the Mexican Air Force aircraft overflew them.
Created in this administration, the National Guard has played a leading role in the parade, in line with priority López Obrador has bestowed upon it.
