Guido Manini, senator and presidential candidate of the Cabildo Abierto party, expressed this comment in critical consideration to the government of President Luis Lacalle Pou, to which he is linked by the governmental coalition.
Manini, former chief of the Armed Forces, demanded in a radio interview to “attack” the supply and demand of drugs at a social level.
The leader of the Cabildo Abierto party considered the official actions against drug trafficking insufficient.
