In its statement, the Amcrp expressed its support for the contents of the study presented in Havana by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, which shows, they pointed out, how the illegal and inhumane siege has caused significant damages in several essential sectors for the livelihood of the Cuban people.
In the opinion of Amcrp, the report highlights the negative effects of the blockade in critical areas such as the economy and trade, public services, the energy sector and tourism. It also highlights the impact on the non-state sector of the economy, which has been seriously affected by the restrictions imposed.
The association stresses in particular that, as has been repeatedly denounced, the arbitrary inclusion of Cuba on the unilateral list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism causes additional harm.
This designation has exacerbated the impact of the blockade, making the socio-economic development of the country and Cuba’s capacity to interact with the international community even more difficult, the Amcrp statement stresses.
