Cuba participated for the first time with a stand dedicated to the Cuba Única promotional campaign, which attracted numerous attendees and was visited by local leaders, headed by Yao Xiaodong, vice president of the Provincial Committee of the Jiangsu People’s Political Consultative Conference.
According to official sources, the deputy director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of this province, Li Chuan, expressed interest in increasing tourism links with Cuba, during a meeting with the Councilor of Tourism for Asia, Elizabeth Vela, and the Consul General in Shanghai, Mileidy Aguirre.
In statements to Prensa Latina, Vela said that during the meeting they advocated working to achieve some air connection from the southern part of China and Cuba.
Both parties talked about increasing the exchange and discussed the possibility of cooperation between the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Havana and the Houses of Higher Studies of China with related careers.
During the meeting, the Caribbean representatives highlighted the granting to China of the status of guest of honor at the 43rd edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITCuba2025), to be held in Havana.
