The ministry’s website reported that Wang and Ahmadian held talks on the sidelines of the Security Council meeting of the BRICS Group of countries in the Russian city of St. Petersburg.
The Chinese foreign minister noted that the Beijing-Tehran relations have stood the test of international changes and established a solid base.
The diplomat pointed out that Beijing appreciates the new Iranian government’s reaffirmation of its commitment to friendship with China and its willingness to further consolidate and deepen bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective.
Ahmadian, in turn, said the new Iranian government is firmly committed to consolidating and strengthening the Iran-China friendship and is ready to work with Beijing to implement the comprehensive cooperation plan and expand comprehensive pragmatic cooperation in economy, trade, investment, digital technology, and cultural tourism.
