AU made donation for children affected by the conflict in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, Sep 13 (Prensa Latina) The African Union (AU) donated food and other urgent items worth 50 thousand dollars to the Elshadai Relief and Development Association (ERDA) of Ethiopia that serves displaced children and orphans, a statement revealed.

This association assists more than three thousand minors in the Tigray region (north) and the donation received is part of the efforts to promote the implementation of the Permanent Cessation of Hostilities Agreement approved in 2022 and which ended the conflict between the Ethiopian government and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front.

It also seeks to support the welfare and rehabilitation of vulnerable and war-affected communities, according to the text released by the African continental organization.

Japan donated the funds for this donation which included teff for injera (similar to a crepe made with teff flour), wheat flour, cooking oil, cooking utensils, sanitary items, bedding, sports equipment, as well as books, notebooks and pens purchased from local vendors.
