Among priorities they dealt with the progress of ongoing projects in the country, with Minister António availing of the opportunity to reiterate the Government’s commitment to continue cooperating closely with the UNDP and the United Nations System, according to a communiqué from the Foreign Ministry.
The minister highlighted the importance of this partnership for the success of the ongoing reforms in Angola, taking into account that the UNDP supports key projects, such as strengthening institutional capacities, promoting good governance and the fight against climate change, among others.
Meanwhile, the UN system in the country is working together with the authorities in priority areas such as humanitarian assistance, food security, public health promotion and emergency response, in which they have also provided technical and financial resources.
Both parties follow in the steps of the 2030 Agenda, of which Angola is a signatory, in addition to actively collaborating for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
