The singer posted a statement on the social network, shortly after watching the presidential debate between Harris and her Republican rival, former President Donald Trump, held last night in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Swift wrote: ‘Like many of you, I watched the debate (…) If you haven’t already, now is a good time to do some research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates are taking on the issues that matter most to you.
“As a voter, I make sure to watch and read as much as I can about the policies and plans they propose for this country,’ he added as she stressed that he will be casting her ‘vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election”.
“I will be voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes that I think require a warrior to achieve,” she added as she stressed her admiration for Harris.
Swift highlighted that the vice president will fight for the causes she considers important, such as LGBTQ+ rights and women’s reproductive freedom.
The 34-year-old singer-songwriter took the opportunity to debunk fake news about an alleged Trump endorsement that was actually generated by AI (artificial intelligence) and explained that ‘the easiest way to combat misinformation is with the truth’.
“With love and hope,” the singer expressed, followed by a “Childless Cat Lady,” a scathing allusion to GOP vice presidential candidate JD Vance’s much-criticized comments about some leading childless Democrats.
Swift endorsed Joe Biden in the 2020 election, and the endorsement of Harris this year could have a big impact among younger voters, who make up a significant portion of her base of supporters.
