Since the SCO Women’s Forum was held, women from all over the world have upheld the “Shanghai Spirit” and contributed to building a closer SCO community of shared destiny, Xi noted.

The head of state urged the forum members to continue to play a positive role in promoting mutual affinity and sincere communication among people from various countries, and add new impetus to strengthen SCO people-to-people ties.

China is willing to work with all parties to promote scientific and technological innovation and the development of women’s causes through digital empowerment, and jointly build a better home for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Xi said.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Women’s Forum opened Wednesday in the Chinese city of Qingdao with the theme “Digital Empowerment and Women’s Participation in the Economy.”
