Moscow, Sep 11 (Prensa Latina) The Baltic coastal missile troops practiced attacking coastal facilities and enemy ships with the help of the Bastion system, during the Ocean 2024 exercises, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported today.
At one of the ranges located on the coast of the Kaliningrad region, units equipped with the Bastion systems carried out electronic launches of Onix anti-ship missiles against conditional targets at sea that simulated an enemy group, the military agency’s note said.
The mobile launchers completed a march and were immediately deployed in the indicated area with the previously equipped positions.
In accordance with the instructions received, the missile troops attacked a detachment of ships of a potential enemy, the role of which was played by combat ships of the fleet performing tasks at sea, and then secretly changed their firing position, the military department said.
The Russian military ministry added that after the change of position and reloading of the launchers, new targets were assigned to the units equipped with the Bastion systems.
During the launches, the missile troops also carried out a series of camouflage and anti-sabotage actions in places of combat duty, the department said.
