Montevideo, Sep 10 (Prensa Latina) Uruguay's Public Health Ministry (MSP) issued recommendations to the population on Tuesday before the incidence of black smoke from forest fires in the South American region.

The health institution reported dark skies and black rain in the country’s several departments due to soot carried by winds coming from the northern region.

Predominantly due to the forest fires that Bolivia is facing in the Amazon and Chaco areas.

The MSP announced that exposure to smoke from fires can cause eye and respiratory tract irritation.

Also included are headaches, digestive disorders, and decompensation of pre-existing chronic heart and lung diseases such as bronchospasm, asthma crisis, arrhythmia, and precordial pain.
