“Since the normalization of relations between Colombia and Venezuela, trade between the two countries has been steadily growing,” the minister said on his Telegram profile.

According to official figures, bilateral trade has grown by 56 percent in 2024.

President Nicolás Maduro highlighted today that by the end of the year exchanges will have reached one billion dollars.

Maduro believes that this commercial achievement reflects the consolidation of economic relations after Caracas and Bogotá decided to normalize their diplomatic ties.

Addressing the 2d Binational Tourism Meeting Venezuela-Colombia, held in the central state of Miranda, he said that trade between the two nations will hopefully hit two billion dollars by 2025.

He stressed that this increase represents an accumulated growth close to 800 percent since the resumption of trade and diplomatic relations with Colombia.

Maduro attributed such a commercial boost to the reactivation of the Venezuelan economy in a progressive and safe manner.
