According to the local newspaper Sierra Maestra, the remodeling project for the replacement of its components will be financed by the Government of Cantabria in Spain, in addition to a significant donation of resources and materials from “Casal de Amistad Cuba” con Badalona, Cataluña.

Engineer José Emilio Camejo Cuan, head of the Electrification Department of CIES, explained to Sierra maestra that the necessary resources are already in Santiago de Cuba to start the project “Maintainability of the electric service through photovoltaic solar energy in the rural community of Santa María de Loreto”.

Camejo explained that the investment includes one million Cuban pesos and involves the installation, in the first stage, of 24 photovoltaic panels and the complementary equipment for this first circuit, which will allow restoring the electric service to the community; and in the second stage a second circuit composed of 12 photovoltaic panels will be installed, which is currently being managed for an amount of 36 thousand Euros.
