Thanks to joint efforts, relations between China and Russia have reached an unprecedented high level, and we also attach great importance to interregional cooperation, the president said during his meeting with Chinese Vice-President Han Zheng.

The Russian leader also expressed his conviction that the negotiations between the delegations of the two countries will be fruitful and will open new directions of interaction.

Putin also stated that he expects the participation of President Xi Jinping in the Brics summit, which will take place in the Russian city of Kazan in October, and also proposed to organize a separate meeting with the Chinese leader on the sidelines of the event.

As for Vladivostok which these days became the venue of the Eastern Economic Forum, he suggested that it will be the center of attraction for cultural and tourist exchanges from all over the world and above all, from China, Russia’s friendly country.

Delegations from 76 countries are taking part in the Eastern Economic Forum, which is being held from September 3 to 6 on the premises of the Far Eastern Federal University.
