According to the newspaper, leaders of the Central de Trabajadores (CTA), the CTA-Autónoma, the Frente Sindical, the Corriente Federal de la Confederación General del Trabajo (CGT) and the Unión de Trabajadores de la Economía Popular, called on their affiliates to participate in the protest against the measures of President Javier Milei.
“In the face of Milei’s new dictatorial disposition, which sweeps away the Congress, we agreed in unity to reject decree 70/23 (which eliminates or modifies more than 300 norms) and the veto to an improvement for retirees. We also support the salaried workers in their struggle for salary increases, especially the university sector”, the General Secretary of the CTA-Autonomous, Hugo Godoy, affirmed.
He also recalled that the elderly and children are the most affected by the ruthless actions of the Executive.
For his part, the representative of La Bancaria and deputy for Unión por la Patria, Sergio Palazzo, urged to join the demonstration “all Argentines who consider that these policies go against their rights and their quality of life”.
We condemn the President’s criminal brake on the increase of pensions and we repudiate his announcement of a possible veto to a potential increase for university students, he said.
On his side, the head of the CTA, Hugo Yasky, indicated that since the arrival of Milei to the Casa Rosada, in December 2023, poverty and indigence increased.
