Equipped with all amenities and designed according to the geographical environment, the houses were handed over free of charge at Rimphyong Farm, Yodok County, at a ceremony attended by Kim Yong Hak, secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) Committee in the territory.
The ceremony was enlivened by singing, dancing and other cultural activities performed by the farmers themselves and amateur groups.
The progress of the rural housing construction program is directly supervised by the general secretary of the WPK, Kim Jong Un.
Last weekend, Kim Jong Un, who is also chairman of the State Affairs Committee, on Saturday led a meeting to review the so-called 20×10 policy, which focuses on raising the economy and living standards in the countryside, and visited construction sites in South Hamgyong.
He called for building factories and more and better housing, hospitals, schools and other social institutions in rural areas.
