A research by the Center of Studies for the Recovery of Argentina of Buenos Aires University, published by Página 12 newspaper, details that the budget necessary for the updating of resources in that sector is equal to the one used for the laundering and benefit of the wealthiest groups (0.14 percent of the Gross Domestic Product).
It also indicates that the recent tax reforms show the priorities of Javier Milei’s Executive, among them the tax reduction for the richest and not the development of public education and science, which is considered alarming.
There is a marked reduction, present and future, of wealth taxes that fall on those sectors with greater wealth.
The modification of the non-taxable minimum and the rates of personal property tax would result in a drop in income of approximately 0.14, the same required for the updating of the university system, the analysis points out.
This afternoon, the Argentine Senate will debate a bill that will reformulate the financing of higher education institutions.
President Javier Milei said that, if approved, it will be vetoed, as well as the law on pension mobility.
