Accompanied by the Minister of Education Naima Trujillo, Marrero visited the Octavio de la Concepción de la Pedraja Semi-boarding School, a primary education center where 589 students are trained and 50 teachers work.
The director of the institution, América Mendoza, explained that during this school year they aim to continue with the work of improvement, with emphasis on the work of teaching the History of Cuba, the English language and Civic Education.
She also indicated that the improvement of teachers is a priority, in order to achieve a better educational teaching process.
The member of the Political Bureau of the Cuban Communist Party also visited the Hector Ruiz School of Sports Initiation in Santa Clara.
The institution currently has a fairly complete faculty and has guaranteed the material base for studies and food.
Marrero inquired about the conditions of the residence and the preparation of athletes with the potential to achieve better results in international competitions, and was interested in the state of the pool, the machine room and the court.
The Prime Minister of the Cuban government also visited the Manuel Ascunce Domenech pedagogical school, where he was interested in the state of the student residence, which recently underwent rehabilitation actions.
The teacher training facility opened its doors to the new school year with an enrollment of 1,321 students in 17 specialties, and has a faculty trained to prepare future teachers at the educational levels of early childhood education and basic secondary education.
