The military ministry said on its official Telegram channel that a total of 158 drones were intercepted, including 46 in Kursk oblast, 34 in Bryansk oblast, 28 in Voronezh, 14 in Belgorod, nine in Moscow, eight in Ryazan, five in Kaluga and four in Lipetsk.
Ukrainian UAVs were also shot down in the Tula, Tambov, Smolensk, Oryol, Tver and Ivanovo regions. The Defense Ministry did not specify the targets of these attacks, which it described as “terrorist”.
Earlier, local authorities mentioned among these targets the MNPZ oil refinery in the southeast of Moscow and the Kashira hydroelectric power plant, about 100 kilometers south of the Russian capital.
Over the last few months, Ukrainian drone attacks on oil refineries and fuel depots in Russia have intensified, primarily in the border provinces, but also in more remote areas such as Nizhny Novgorod, Bashkortostan or Tatarstan. In response, Russia resumed at the end of last March massive attacks targeting, in particular, facilities in the Ukrainian energy sector.
