Haitian gang leader tells Kenyan troops to leave

Port-au-Prince, Aug 30 (Prensa Latina) The leader of a coalition of criminal gangs called Vivamos Juntos (Viv Ansanm, in Haitian Creole), Jimmy Cherizier, aka Barbecue, tells Kenyan soldiers to leave the country because they still have not defeated them after two months.

The Kenyan officers are my brothers and we want to avoid any confrontation that could result in the loss of life on both sides, the leader of Vivamos Juntos said for the Pan Africanist Emergences program, quoted by the Haiti Libre digital newspaper.

Barbecue criticized the United States, France, and Canada for using the Caribbean Community to impose a government in Haiti that would only protect their interests. The former policeman recalled that the Western countries and the Haitian oligarchs are the managers of the current violence in Haiti.

In June, Barbecue described the Kenyan soldiers as invaders and his men were ready to fight them.

Barbecue proposed a dialogue with the Government as a first step to restore peace in the country, and he also called on the Executive to create public policies to benefit the working class.

Haiti’s interim Prime Minister Gary Conille responded to the request by saying that the gangs must first lay down their weapons and acknowledge the State’s authority.

Under this scenario, Barbecue virtualized a video in which he said once again that he was ready to confront the foreign troops, without any intention of dialogue.
