The Party meeting should make decisions on the directions, goals, and tasks for the Party, the people, and the army during the 2026-2030 period, push forward the implementation of the socio-economic development strategy for 2021-2030, and work towards the 100th anniversary of the CPV, he said.
Lam presided over a meeting of the Political Bureau and the Central Committee Secretariat this Friday to discuss some of the leading documents to be presented to the 14th National Congress’ attendees for its approval, including the political report and the summary of some theoretical and practical issues of the country’s Renovation policy, known as Doi Moi, over the last 40 years.
The general secretary said the political report is of great importance, so it should be of high quality and was a guide for other documents, the Party’s leadership in the next term, and pave the way for the following years.
He said the document depicts all quintessence of values in the past, the present, and the future, summarizes the results of 55 years of implementing the will of President Ho Chi Minh and continues to thoroughly capture the instructions of late Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Regarding the latter, Lam pointed out that the drafting of documents should be based on three basic principles: perseverance and renewal, inheritance and development, and a harmonious combination of theory, practice, and policy guidance.
