The supporting documents were presented by the diplomat in the presence of Dominica President Sylvanie Burtonlas, authorities from the Ministry of Education and members of the diplomatic corps.
In his words, the ambassador acknowledged that the event is a testimony of the solidarity between Cuba and Dominica, which dates back to 1979, and noted that to date, more than 400 scholarship recipients have graduated in different specialties as part of the educational support program that Cuba maintains with the countries of CARICOM (Caribbean Community).
Education Minister Octavia Alfred thanked Cuba for its ongoing support for the training of her country’s human resources and reminded the beneficiaries of the scholarships that their duty is to study and return to serve their people.
