The Army launched an offensive against the region with the participation of hundreds of soldiers, armored vehicles and helicopters, which will last several days, and has the northern governorates of Tulkarem and Jenin as its epicenter.

There were reports of the entry of the military into numerous towns such as Jamain, Beit Fajar, Al Yamoun, Tubas, Nablus, Salem and Qalquilia.

The IDF said in a statement that the operation began at dawn in order to arrest “wanted persons.”

The Israeli news portal Ynet highlighted that two combat brigades are participating in the campaign, and explained that the troops have surrounded numerous hospitals to prevent access to wounded Palestinian militias. Israeli troops also simultaneously stormed the Al-Faraa, Jenin and Nur al-Sham refugee camps, where intense fighting is reported.

The Wafa news agency informed that Israeli force is stationed near the medical centers in the city of Tulkarem, including the Al-Isra specialized hospital, the Government hospital and the Thabet Thabet hospital. Excavators began to destroy numerous homes and parts of the drinking water infrastructure there, the outlet denounced.

The brigades of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Islamic Jihad assured in separate statements that their members are confronting Israeli forces in various areas.

Media outlets reported that Israel’s soldiers closed several Palestinian cities, including Jenin, preventing the exit or entry of their inhabitants.
