The statement was made by Wais in a conversation with Cuban Ambassador Marcelo Caballero Torres on issues of bilateral and international interest at the Presidential Palace, according to information sent by the Cuban Embassy to Prensa Latina.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss friendship and cooperation relations, as well as the means to further strengthen them.
In that regard, they focused on the mutually beneficial strategic partnership enjoyed by the two countries in a number of key fields.
The information added that Djibouti, a reliable partner of Cuba, counts on the experience of more than 90 collaborators from the Caribbean island who provide their services in the healthcare, education, sports and livestock sectors.
Wais and Caballero also reviewed the main issues on the agenda of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 79), which will open on September 10.
