In a statement, the CTC expressed its support for the Bolivarian Socialist Workers’ Union (CBST), and condemned the actions promoted to “delegitimize the resounding victory of President Nicolás Maduro and the Great Patriotic Pole in the elections on July 28.”
The CTC stressed that the National Electoral Council and the Supreme Court of Justice endorsed the electoral results as a sign of strict observance of constitutionality.
“We, Cuban workers, are fully convinced that no one can defeat the will of the Venezuelan people, who triumphed democratically at the polls,” the statement added.
For that reason, the CTC rejects the articulation of deceptive matrices, on social networks and other platforms, to incite hatred against Bolivarian institutions, leaders and authorities, the statement noted.
“We are sure that there will be no media or interventionist campaign that will undermine the lineage of the brave Venezuelan people and its workers, who have the legitimate right to defend their sovereignty and self-determination,” the document highlighted.
The Cuban workers reaffirmed their unrestricted support for and accompaniment of the Venezuelan people, the CBST and President Nicolás Maduro, “worthy heirs of the humanist and independence thought of (Simón) Bolívar and (Hugo) Chávez.”
