ATE specified in a statement that it had accessed information, according to which a new batch of expulsions in the public administration would affect those affiliated to other political formations, those who campaigned against the current administration, those who presented several medical certificates and people considered “conflictive”.
“That type of dismissals to be implemented by the late September are prohibited by all laws. These are discriminatory dismissals based on a political basis. They consider the worker who claims his rights is conflictive. They want us to be slaves”, the Secretary General of ATE, Rodolfo Aguiar said.
The authoritarianism of this government is not compatible with democracy. They decided to violate the dignity of the state employees and of all people. This only happened during the dictatorship, he added.
Aguiar echoed his organization’s rejection of this measure and assured that the officials involved will be repealed.
“They are committing psychological abuse. They are acting outside the law and thus harming not only the employees, but also the entire administration. Such behavior is penalized by the Penal Code. They are using their positions for purposes other than the public interest”, he pointed out.
Aguiar recalled there are more than 65 thousand workers of the State’s transitory plant whose labor bonds were renewed at the beginning of June for only 90 days, which puts them at risk of dismissal by the end of next month.
While reiterating that the legal system has repeatedly declared illegal these layoffs, the Union urged all its members to continue to implement their action plan.
