The Ministry of Health of the country published a new note that exceeds the number of 68 fatalities previously announced.
On Monday, the collapse of the Arbaat dam in Port Sudan, east of the country, bordering the Red Sea, caused the death of many people.
The catastrophe was caused by the torrential downpours that hit this African country during the current month, causing floods that isolated several cities and areas of this capital and made the life of the Sudanese even more tragic after almost 16 months of civil war.
The force of the torrent also caused significant material damage, although the exact magnitude has yet to be determined, according to official sources.
The torrential rainy season in Sudan begins almost every year in June and lasts until October.
The deaths and material damage add to the long list of more than 15,000 dead and tens of thousands of wounded caused by the civil war between al Burhan and Hamdan Dagalo and the displacement of some 11 million people who have become internal and international refugees.
