Parliament says that Noboa failed to comply with the Constitution

Quito, Aug 27 (Prensa Latina) Ecuador's Parliament commission that analyzed the Report to the Nation offered by President Daniel Noboa determined today that the head of State failed to comply with the Constitution by omitting information.

According to the members of that legislative panel, Noboa did not include in his speech how the Executive’s National Development Plan 2021-2025 has fared, as ordered by the Magna Carta.

MP Jorge Peñafiel, of the Construye party, who is part of the commission, upheld that Noboa’s presentation included “many elements that are not in accordance with reality”.

The report presented by the Ecuadorian president on May 24 was divided into four thematic axes: cabinet and security, social, infrastructure and environment, and economy.

Citizens and media warned about inaccuracies in data such as the reduction of violent deaths, the decrease of the country’s risk, the 120,000 quotas for universities, the creation of more than 105,000 jobs, among others.

Assembly members of the Citizen Revolution movement (RC) did not attend the plenary session of the legislature to listen to the speech, which lasted half an hour and was accompanied by four videos.
