The Minister participated this morning in an interview program on Salvadoran television channel 10, during which he described the disease as the worst in the world that can cause deaths, especially among children.
In the case of El Salvador, he affirmed, they have the installed capacity to attend the population, “we have the medicines, the hospital facilities and the necessary supplies”.
He indicated that countries in the region are in a complex situation with a high mortality rate and here we have already observed a drop in cases after having seven deaths, and we are maintaining the offensive with fumigation and preventive actions to eliminate the mosquito, the transmitting agent of the disease.
We have 571 confirmed cases out of the 11 million in the Americas, he said and pointed out the high involvement in the country of health personnel, armed forces, Civil Protection, hundreds of fumigation pumps and resources to fight the disease.
