A brigade of the Ministry of Public Security and other central government agencies are working on the interior finishing of the buildings, the water works in the area and its green areas.
Already in its third stage, the Hwasong project includes the construction of 10,000 apartments to complete the delivery of some 50,000 next year, in addition to numerous public and service facilities, in a harmonious environment conceived in a native style.
The second was completed last April, when the general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Committee, Kim Jong Un, handed over their new homes to 10,000 families.
The country’s top leader has urged the builders involved in the program to turn Pyongyang “into a civilized city of world fame, worthy of the power of a Korea mighty in name and deed.”
