Despite the pressures exerted by Western powers aimed at deter Syria, the country has adopted measures for the benefit of its national interests as well as principled positions in a sovereign and independent manner, the Foreign Minister said, as he spoke at the regular meeting of Syrian ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions abroad.
He gave assurances that Syria will continue to fully press ahead to put an end to the illegal US and Turkish military presence in the northeast and northwest of the country.
He further called on the ambassadors to work more on economic diplomacy and considered that it has become an essential pillar of the Ministry’s work.
It is necessary to establish effective communication with the various state-run economic agencies and institutions involved in this field, the Ministry said.
The head of Syrian diplomacy also spoke of the challenges facing the Arab region, particularly the plight of the Palestinian people, and called the United States an accomplice in the Israeli genocide committed in the Gaza Strip.
He also hailed the steadfastness of the Lebanese people and their courageous response to repeated Israeli attacks, and praised the struggle and sacrifices of the Syrian population in the occupied Golan Heights.
