The visit will boost the strategic partnership between both countries, said the spokesman for the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal.
Given that Brazil holds the Presidency of the G20 this year and India is part of the Troika, both Foreign Ministers will discuss ways to carry out the key results inherited from New Delhi’s leadership of that bloc in 2023, an official statement said previously.
Vieira’s visit to India will provide an opportunity to further strengthen the strategic partnership established in 2006 and explore new avenues of cooperation at the bilateral, regional and multilateral levels in various sectors, according to the statement, which also highlighted the fact that the two countries share a multifaceted relationship based on shared values.
Last week, Admiral Marcos Sampaio Olsen, commander of the Brazilian Navy, completed a four-day visit to improve bilateral cooperation, show common commitment in the defensive sector and collaborate on shared security challenges, the Ministry of Defense reported at the time.
