According to the invitation, the caravan will start at the University of Panama, will travel through this capital’s main avenues, and will finish in a rally at the emblematic Belisario Porras park, next to the bust of Cuban National Hero José Martí.
In statements to Prensa Latina, AMCRP President Humberto Pérez explained that this kind of action has been carried out systematically since March 2021, but on this occasion it has a special connotation.
Pérez added that a new demonstration is expected in which they will join the voices that have not stopped asking for better times for the Cuban family and more bridges of love around the world.
Together with groups in solidarity with Cuba and people from different creeds and ideologies, we will ask the current Government of Panama to join this cause against the atrocious blockade that has lasted more than 60 years and generates suffering and scarcity for our heroic people, who resist and fight to move forward despite these attacks that besiege them.
The statement from the AMCRP pointed out, “It is time to send a strong message to the US presidential candidate from the Democratic Party, Kamala Harris, who said a few days ago that “she believed that the embargo, a failed policy, should be lifted.”
Pérez noted that the initiative will take place amid campaigns by groups opposed to the Revolution that triumphed in 1959 that foment hatred and subversion against the peace and stability of Cuban families from Miami.
In Panama, the rallies to support Cuba in its fight against the blockade have also had the seal of a demand for the White House to remove Cuba from a spurious list of nations that sponsor terrorism.
That cruel policy is the main obstacle to Cuba’s economic development, according to estimates.
