As reported, the 26-year-old detainee arrived at the court by helicopter and under heavy security to respond to charges of murder, attempted murder, and membership in the Islamic State, the jihadist organization that claimed responsibility for the attack.
After the court’s ruling, the case enters the investigation phase for the crime of terrorism.
The alleged perpetrator had been living in the country, where he requested asylum, since late 2022. He was not known to security authorities as an Islamist extremist, although he was under a deportation order to Bulgaria.
