In addition to this, updated estimates from businessmen in the vehicle purchase and sale sector indicate that in 2024 there will be around 25 000 new units and four second-hand units imported from the United States for each new car sold.
It looks like there will be a percentage growth. Not as fast as last year, but it will continue to grow.
We should be around 25 000 units’, said Jose Roberto Renderos, director of Porsche El Salvador.
In statements quoted by the media, Renderos assured that distributors are updated with purchase orders.
However, the sector is facing ‘some limitations’, such as the bottleneck at the Port of Acajutla, in Sonsonate, which slowed down the entry of new cars.
Official data indicate that, the vehicle fleet surpassed 1.81 million vehicles, with an annual growth of 4.76 percent, until July 2024.
