During a speech last night Ortega remembered Commander Hugo Chávez. “We are carrying out this act, in the plaza of the eternal commander, our dear brother Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, who is present with us,” he said, and affirmed that this Thursday was a day of victory for Venezuela, AS the triumph of the people of Simón Bolívar, of Hugo Chávez, and Nicolás Maduro, was confirmed. “Congratulations, dear brothers! Congratulations!” he expressed.

“Our fraternal heart salutes the triumphs of the Venezuelan people, against Chávez, the eternal Commander, and we chose this place because we knew that the victories of our people are true, they are true, we are moving forward,” said Vice President Rosario Murillo in statements to the national television.

On Thursday, the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice of Venezuela certified the victory of President Nicolás Maduro after a formal expert opinion on the results of the presidential elections of July 28th.
