As reported by KCNA, the Foreign Ministry refuted the State Department’s claim that the decision will not fundamentally change the military balance on the Korean Peninsula.
It pointed out that the increase in military assets by one of the conflicting forces in the region will change the political-military situation of the region and warned that the US sale of Apache helicopters to South Korea will have consequences.
The statement gave a detailed summary of the sophisticated weapons that the United States has recently equipped its allies in the Asia-Pacific region and noted that approving the sale of those helicopters to Seoul coincides with the conduction of the large-scale Ulchi Freedom Shield exercises by the two countries.
As long as Washington remains obsessed with supplying war and lethal equipment to its allies in the region, in an increasingly reckless manner, the DPRK will redouble its strategic deterrence to defend the State’s security and interests and regional peace, the text warned.
