On the day of #RadioCubana, a centenary force that continues to be fundamental in the vital exercise of communication, congratulations to all radio workers in the country, with the sincere hug of someone who has always felt like your colleague, the president wrote on X social media.

In another message on X, celebrating six decades of Uneac, Diaz-Canel recalled the words of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, who defined that organization as ‘… that renunciation of passions, that renunciation of selfishness, personalism and ambitions’, where the work of each one is the work of all.

This year marks the 99th anniversary of the Cuban Radio, which celebrates the first continuous radio transmissions in the island, in a traditional way, in 1922.

So every August 22, radio broadcasters share their anniversary with the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba.
