Exports from Chile to India increase by 53 percent

Santiago de Chile, Aug 21 (Prensa Latina) Chilean exports to India, except copper and lithium, grew 53 percent from January to July compared to the same period in 2023, totaling 459 million dollars, a report indicates.

Fruits, manufactures and mineral products are among the main drivers of this increase, declared Ignacio Fernández, general director of ProChile, the institution of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that promotes the country’s supply of goods and services worldwide.

Chile markets in India iodine, molybdenum and cellulose and foodstuffs.

The data was released a few days before the Chile India 2024 Summit, scheduled to take place between August 27th and 30th in New Delhi and Mumbai.

The Chilean delegation will be headed by Foreign Minister Alberto van Klaveren; the Minister of Agriculture, Esteban Valenzuela; and the General Director of ProChile, and will include the Chile-India Business Council, the Chilean Image Foundation, the National Agricultural Society, the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, the Chilean Pacific Foundation and the Association of Film and Television Producers, among other unions and organizations.
