The Association of Accountants, Economists, and Administrators of Uruguay (CCEAU) made the remarks.

That concern will be under discussion during the Agricultural Meetings with Argentina, a neighboring country that has also suffered the effects of drought.

The face-to-face and virtual event will take place at the Parque de Minas, in the northeastern Lavalleja department, on September 5 and 7.

CCEAU President Cristina Freire told reporters that “we are currently seeing the consequences of the drought” and its impact on the agricultural producers’ debt.

The forum will also address market analysis, trusts, new technologies, and the prospects for public policies to address the sector’s problems.
