According to the announcement, Guterres will arrive in Samoa before continuing to New Zealand and Tonga, where he will participate in the Pacific Islands Forum.
In addition to meetings with national authorities, the Secretary General will insist on the risks of sea level rise in that geographical area and beyond.
Guterres will also meet with representatives of local communities and civil society, including young people.
He will later travel to Timor-Leste at the end of the month where he will participate in the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Popular Consultation in the country, organized by the UN.
