The SADR Foreign Ministry expressed its astonishment at the unilateral step taken by the Chadian Government to announce, together with Morocco, “the opening of an alleged and fictitious “consulate” (…) in Dakhla”, a city that is part of the occupied territories of Western Sahara.
This is an illegal decision, contrary to international and African law and international diplomatic regulations and conventions, (and) constituted “an aggression against the SADR’s sovereignty,” the Sahrawi Press Agency reported.
The document also recalls that the SADR stood by the Chadian Government when it was attacked on its territory and goes on to remind “this amnesiac African nation that the judgments of the Court of Justice of the European Union make it clear that the Kingdom of Morocco and Western Sahara are separate and different countries.”
