The diplomat stated in Telegram that the competent functionaries are authorized to legally evaluate the actions of correspondents of foreign publications, bypassing the procedures established to penetrate the sovereign territory of the Russian Federation.
Zakharova recalled that several of these foreign media representatives have already been criminally prosecuted for illegally crossing the state border of the Russian Federation. “All these incidents are carefully recorded, and appropriate measures will be applied to the offenders,” she added, noting that from the point of view of journalism, these pseudo-reporters can only be described as traitors to the profession, who have stooped to directly participating in the manufacture and dissemination of Ukrainian military propaganda.
“The nature of the materials published as a result of such trips, including staged scenes of prisoners of war and civilians, clearly indicates that the main task of the media landing force that has invaded on occupied Russian territory is to vindicate the Kiev government,” the spokeswoman added.
“They also lend themselves to covering up crimes against the civilian population, further destabilizing the informative situation and manipulating public opinion, rehabilitating Nazism and creating the necessary background for the West to continue supporting Kiev’s terrorist clique,” Zakharova said.
The Washington Post previously published an article about the situation in Sudzha, stating that its journalists entered the Kursk region embedded with the Ukrainian troops.
In addition, the Italian ambassador in Moscow, Cecilia Piccioni, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry for the illegal entry of journalists from the RAI channel (Italian Radio Television) into the Kursk region to cover the attack by the Ukrainian forces.
