Commander of the Russian Navy explores areas of cooperation in India

Moscow, Aug 20 (Prensa Latina) The commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy, Aleksander Moiseyev, is visiting India to discuss new areas of cooperation.

Moiseyev’s stay in India will extend until August 22nd, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.

The visit proves the long-standing relationship between the Russian and Indian Navies, and its purpose is to strengthen bilateral naval relations, as well as seeking new areas of collaboration in the maritime field, states the Ministry of Defense on Telegram.

Moiseyev met with the Chief of the Naval Staff of the Indian Navy, Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, during his visit. The parties discussed measures to further strengthen cooperation between the naval forces of both countries.

In the context of his visit, the head of the Russian Navy will also travel to the city of Mumbai and visit Indian warships and submarines, the shipyard and the shipbuilding company Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited.
