The visitors arrived in China to participate in the commemorations for the 40th anniversary of the accession of the National People’s Congress of China (NPC) to the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the sixth seminar of parliamentarians from developing countries.

Xi stressed that, although each comes from different continents, they are all part of the Global South.

He also stressed that despite differences in national conditions and realities, they share ideals and are good brothers and partners.

In this context, he emphasized China’s willingness to work together with other countries to promote a multipolar world based on equality and inclusive global economic development, with the aim of building a community of shared destiny for mankind.

Xi highlighted the importance of exchange between legislative bodies as an essential part of relations between nations.

He affirmed that parliaments have the responsibility and ability to actively contribute to building international relations based on mutual trust, development cooperation and the promotion of a more just and equitable global system of governance.
