This happened after the arrest of more than a thousand people during the latest far-right riots.
The so-called Operation Early Dawn was already used by the previous executive last May and includes the delay of appearances before the judge for non-urgent cases, the extension of provisional releases or the permanence of detainees in police facilities, instead of in prison.
According to the Ministry of Justice, these actions will not imply the release of people who pose a risk to society, and the Police will continue with the arrests as until now.
According to official data, the prison system in England and Wales has a capacity for around 89,200 prisoners and on Friday had already accumulated some 87,900.
