Russia continues delivery of humanitarian aid to Syria (+Photo)

Damascus, Aug 18 (Prensa Latina) New batches of humanitarian assistance of food and health supplies were provided today by the Russian forces operating in Syria, in the provinces of Quneitra in the southwest and Latakia in the northwest.

The Health Department of the coastal governorate of Latakia received 10 tons of medicines and medical supplies, provided by the Russian Ministry of Health.

According to the representative of that country’s Coordination Center in this Levantine nation, Lieutenant Colonel Klyukin Pavel Olegovich, aid in that sector and other fields will continue in all Syrian regions.

While the deputy provincial director of Health, Samer Ahmed, thanked the Russian friends for supporting the Syrian people and considered that this aid reflects the deep friendship between the two countries.

On the other hand, the Russian military policemen offered gifts to the children admitted to the Mother and Child Hospital, in an initiative aimed at spreading and generating an atmosphere of joy in this hospital center.

The Eurasian nation’s uniformed men also delivered 300 food baskets, weighing a total of three tons, to residents of the village of Mumtana in Quneitra Governorate.

The aid included rice, flour, sunflower oil, tea, sugar and canned milk.

In turn, Russian doctors provided medical consultations to a number of patients, as well as necessary medicines and treatment recommendations.

The military of the Russian Federation present since 2015 in Syria at the request of its government, last Friday delivered food assistance in the towns of Sukelbieh and Maharda in the central province of Hama.

According to Moscow, the Russian Army’s support to Syria contributed to the liberation of 90 percent of its territory from terrorism.

In addition, more than four thousand humanitarian aid operations were carried out since 2015, during which about 600 thousand tons of food, medicines and basic materials were delivered.
