Two children were buried by landslides on Friday night and one was swept away by the current of the Acelhuate river, in Soyapango, reported Civil Protection.
The deaths are associated with the heavy rains that hit the country between Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
Besides the deceased minors, an adult died in Ilobasco, in the municipality of Cabañas Oeste, who died in the Ilobasco Hospital due to the serious damage he suffered after being buried by a collapsed wall.
The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources reported significant accumulated rainfall up to 23:23 (local time) on Saturday, such as 69.8 milliliters (mm) of rain at the station of Candelaria de la Frontera, Santa Ana.
As well as 65.6 milliliters in Perquín, Morazán, and 52.2 at the El Jocote station, in La Libertad Norte.
During Saturday night and early Sunday morning, rainfall persisted, although during the morning the sky in San Salvador remained clear.
